Same here. Malloy isn't the right person anymore, and if I hear someone mention Lauretti one more time...

I always vote for who I think will be best for the state/country. Registered R, last election I voted straight D except state house and senate. Election before that it was straight R. 2018 will come down to who both party nominates. Will vote in the primaries for whoever I think is best.

I'd take Boughton or McKinney over Malloy. I've also heard that Themis Klairdes, the house minority leader may throw her hat in the ring.

I would vote for Themis any day of the week. I heard good things about Len Fasano too, though there have been stories about him having a bad past. I can't wait to hear the announcements soon about who's going to run. The odds of winning as a Republican are higher now than any time in over a decade. There should be more Republicans choosing to run than Democrats but we will find out soon whether that's right or wrong.

Of those mentioned, I would support McKinney. If Malloy does not run, I'd have to look at both nominees. Jim Himes would make a great governor, but, I doubt he is interested.

I know Herbst semi-announced, but, by all accounts he's a Trump style bully, and I'd have to pass.

If the Republican Party of CT is smart, which is questionanle at best, they would take a long look at Mark Boughton. I've known Mark since his days as a social studies teacher at Danbury High School. Mark is fair, knowledgable, and understands the ecomonics of the state.

The party blew off Mark the last time around. Nominated Tom Folley again and he lost again. The party lost a lot of support over than stupid move.

I'll vote for whoever campaigns to do away with income taxes, lower property taxes in CT cities, increase funding to DMHAS, change tax laws for hospitals to stop draining them of cash, and legalize marijuana.
