Yep, really. In comparison Fairfield has lots of cultural outlets along with nearby Black Rock. I don’t think it’s comparible.

I also don’t find Fairfield to be “artsy”. It’s an affluent suburb. Westport used to be artsy, but it’s become a bedroom community.

Funny what we think of as artsy. I went to Laguna Beach CA last month. Now THAT is artsy. Nothing in CT comes close.

I can't speak for Weston, but, Westport makes a strong effort to insure all students feel included. Asian kids, gay kids, jocks, non-athletes, actors, artistic weirdos all have their place. Of course kids are kids and there are no guarantees, but, WEstport is probably the most liberal town in Fairfield County and the schools reflect that a good deal.

We like the lower part of Weston bc it is close to the water and right by the Merritt. Shopping is easy from there from what I can tell.

I have kids so I am most concerned about the student body & parents. Preppy? Jock culture?
As a barometer, say, would an LGBT child be accepted? We are professional family coming from Manhattan so my kids have been taught to be very tolerant of difference/diversity. My kids are Asian. I realize diversity is limited in FFC, and that is fine. I know Westport tends to espouse more of these values.
I don't think there's any discernible difference in tolerance between Weston and Westport - they are both very tolerant, politically liberal towns.
