60 - 75 minutes each way , down I-75 S and either 826 S ( Palmetto ) or preferably the Turnpike South . Toll on the latter but you do not have to go through Hialeah ( yuk !! ) like you do on the Palmetto !!!

I have never taken this route to circumvent rush hour traffic, but a possibility might be US 27 South to Krome Ave in Dade, then take Krome south to SW 8 St (US 41), go east until whatever avenue you need to be at, turn right, and you are a mile from Coral Way.

I live in Weston andthis is the recommended route:
loc:%20Hayes%20St%20at%20441%20Hollywood%20FL%20US %20-%20Google%20Maps]loc: Hayes St at 441 Hollywood FL US]loc: Hayes St at 441 Hollywood FL US - Google Maps - Google Maps

Either way, it is a rough commute. Taking US 27 will be good for half your commute.

This thread might have the best title ever.

But it's a long drive, but that's the cost of where your job is and the fact that you want to live in a good community.

For 6 years I drove 1 hour each way in bumper to bumper traffic for the most part. I didn't mind it that much as I said to myself this is my decompression time. Then I got a job closer to my house and loved it. No more bumper to bumper traffic. I was only kidding myself that sitting in traffic is ok, by says it is my decompression time. After working so close to home with my last job, I will never commute in bumper to bumper traffic ever again. I will find a place to live and work close to one another. I realize that those few hours a day in the car are more important to me.

I would suggest either finding a job closer to Weston or live closer to Coral Way like in the Gables, Key Biscayne, Brickell, the roads, northern part of the grove. Yes Weston is very nice, but Weston is just far out west from stuff. If you have kids or don't go out on the weekends/nights then it will be fine. But if you are young or even older and still like to have fun don't live that far west.

Remember, Coral way goes from the Turnpike to downtown. You can do the turnpike to weston in 40 mins, ideal conditions BUT that trip can go over 1.5 hours if there's an accident, Weston is NOT a great place to live, but I am sure you can find work near there. If you will work on coral way, just find a home nearby. Coral Way and 87 ave is a bad place traffic wise, and between the Gables and downtown is a disaster. Tell us the avenue where your job will be and we can help more.

Weston is in the middle of nowhere, kind of crowded, extremely overpriced, low quality construction. It has no Florida character to it and is a monoculture of developments. The city wants to micro-manage your lives. It also has a third-world feel in some areas. In short, to me Weston is just something to look at on the way to Clewiston. No way I would ever want to live there.

For a much better living experience try Southwest Ranches. Now that's a NICE place! Way too expensive nowadays though.
