Dragging Trap, Bear Hides Under West Hartford Shed, Police Say - Hartford Courant

The poor bear! Now DEP is probably gonna have to euthanize it. We see them occasionally. They keep their distance from humans, and we wisely keep our distance from them. I hope they figure out who set the trap, and prosecute them.

It might not have been a bear trip. It may have been for another type of animal. Still it is ashame. Hopefully they will be able to help the bear. Jay

Happy to see they didn't have to euthanize it! They tranquilized it, got its paw out of the (legal) trap, and deported it to Litchfield county.

Injured Bear Found Under West Hartford Shed Has Been Released - Hartford Courant

Hope they left it a meal to eat when it woke up. It's gonna take the bear a little bit to adjust to its new neighborhood, and get over its injured paw.
