How one of the most radical proggressive states in the nation like CT hasn't legalized it yet is shocking to say the least.
We're going to open for business about the same time as NY. We lost out on a lot of NYer tax income. Could've been open years ago. Land of steady habit legislators, many of them Democrats, are to blame.

Well its legal it just doesn't have sellers. Which reminds me one of the missing things is those that sell the seeds. there's a difference between buying marijuana products and actually buying the seeds and growing. Then again I've seen places that sell everything but the seeds. Growing is also a zoning issue. I don't think new england is that good to have outdoor growing. The electrical costs can make it quite cost prohibitive.

The 12 Best Cities for Growing Marijuana Outdoors
https://www.lawnstarter.com/blog/cit...wing-marijuana

#3 Providence RI
Number of people in state per 1,000 seized marijuana plants grown outdoors: 55,968 (growing illegally)
The people in the Providence area did care about any marijuana laws lol.

#5 Hartford CT

5. Hartford, CT
Average annual sunshine: 56%
Average annual precipitation: 45.9 inches
Average annual high temperature: 61 degrees
Population density per square mile: 1,792
Medical marijuana legal: Yes
Number of people in state per 1,000 seized marijuana plants grown outdoors: 9,160

So Hartford and Provience have the most illegal seizures per capita. That is how they know that it good growing in this area.

CT used to have a lot of tobacco farms. Makes sense we could grow marijuana too right? Look at the farms that are here now in the Hartford area.

I haven't followed the weed laws closely but that makes more sense then. What's the issue then with the thread? that they haven't started distribtion and sales? That's surprising for a deep blue state that's hungry for it.

They legalized it but sales cannot start yet. The licensing/regulation part is taking way too long. But not uncommon, it took forever for sales to start in MA/NJ/VT/ME/etc

Basically, if they did this five years ago they would have been able to grab a lot of revenue and tax $ from New Yorkers looking for some legal stuff. Instead, MA ended up winning out on some tax $$.. but not to the extent CT could have won at if they had a few pot shops down in Danbury, Norwalk, Stamford or Bridgeport.

The process from legalization to sales is always slow. I believe it took 2 years in Mass. We were way too slow voting for it.

I remember when the first dispensaries opened up. For ages, it was only a few. If I recall correctly, the medical ones started offering for recreational first, then the big expansion started. Go to Oregon. More dispensaries than packies.

Don't be surprised if Westport is the first.
