is it me or are they reluctant to let people know of certain weather conditions ahead of time. You know when storms come people sometimes like to prepare/stock up. Maybe buy batteries incase they lose power!!! I am so fed up with these wannabe meteorologists and for that reason I am going to pursue my dream of being a weather man.. YAY

Hey, I could have told you this was coming 4 days ago with 95% certainty. But I was banned from started new thread on weather. LOL

I think I'm allowed to start one at a time but..Now this might be the last snowstorm. LOL

The Track is very close to the coast. If you want the highest total in any given snowstorm you have to be close to the Low (rain/snow line) but you also have to accept that a wrong jog just 40 miles and it can change over.

I dont think this will but Long Island will see liquid for a few hours.

I've never seen people make soooo much money and be wrong so much of the time!!! They never seem to be right lately. Sometimes we'll get 2inches of snow without it ever being forcasted!!! Go Figure!!

I think that being a weatherperson must be the best job in the world. You can say "chance of [whatever]" and if it happens, you're right. If it doesn't happen, you're still right. And if you miss something completely, you just blame it on Mother Nature.

PS. Don't tell me that meteorology is more complicated than guesswork. I'm totally aware that's it's a science. I really am.

The best has to be being a meteorologist in San Diego.

You can just record yourself saying "Sunny and 75" and go on vacation.

IDK about that. I remember pretty vividly that whenever the meteorologists said: A. You're going to school. B. You're going to have a delay. C. You're going to have an early dismissal(rare). or D. Snow Day!!!!!, they were right every time. Only once, ~'89 did they flub it. Whatever forecasting tool(s) they were using in the 70's and 80's, they need to go back to using them.
