Whatever happened to CD players? Remember when all the kids used to have them? Now we all have our MP3s and our iPods. Does anyone still use a cd player to listen to music? I am not talking about the ones in your car, but the typical ones that come with headphones and run on batteries.

I have a Sony CD player here at work that I used to use with a stack of 30 or so data CDs filled with MP3 files.

I've since replaced it with a Gigabeat MP3 player, though.

I use mine when I travel. I don't have a home computer so a mp3 player won't do me any good. I'd love one, I just have no way to put songs on one or add/delete songs as time goes on. My car even has a jack for an mp3 player. Too bad I can't use it.

I still have my old one but truth be told it looks like something from prehistory. Each CD I have can carry up to 20-30 songs while my ipod currently has 6742 songs, 315 videos and a further 10 gigs worth of podcasts(492) and pictures(3056)

If you put them both nearby and listen real closely, you can almost hear the ipod mock the CD player
