We were in the Mediterranean last April in a small ship and it was great. One of the advantages of smaller ships is that they often go to different ports than the big ones.
We are off again to the Caribbean in November still on a smaller ship. For me both the ship and the ports of call are important. We did go the Caribbean on Adventure of the Seas and, although we had a great time, the ship was just too big. This one goes to a lot of smaller islands than the big ones.
I'm all about the boat! But I've only been on one cruise (to the Bahamas--hope to do many more) so in the future I think I would get into the excursions more.
