The father didn't live there. He was visiting his girlfriend, who did live there.

Either way, tm did have an apartment where he was staying that night. Too bad for him he chose to not return there when he could have.

If they can't figure out how to walk the fine line between vigilance & harassing, then it's better not to have a neighborhood watch at all, even if burglaries go up--which of course nobody wants, but I'd STILL take that over being harassed everywhere I walk just because I have a hood on my head.

TM didn't need to hang around to explain who he was, he needed to be left alone. He shouldn't HAVE to explain himself, that he's present & a resident is all that's needed. Are we required to wear ID badges now when walking in our own neighborhood? That is what bothers me--I know enough about myself to know that if someone were frequently nagging me while I was walking in my own neighborhood, I'd be seriously ticked off. To me, GZ would be a NOBODY to have to explain who I was to all the time.

That said, it's apparent TM also crossed the line jumping GZ & assaulting him, there was no call for any of that. At that point, now BOTH of them were in the wrong, & TM more so. If TM was aggravated over being profiled, I would agree 100%, but physical assault isn't the reply to that. A simple "I live here, now please stop harassing me & go back to bothering REAL criminals" would've sufficed & kept him 100% in the right at that point.
Black/white people trying defend Trayvon.White people trying to defend GZ.
Just Move On!
We have bigger problems to deal with in our country right now.

Yes, Trayvon seemed to be headed down a dangerous road. Yes, he was working hard on building a criminal record. Yes, he was expelled from school, BUT those aren't facts that have any bearing on the case and shouldn't have been presented.

Since Zimmerman decided to ignore a direct order by the police and not only approached Martin, but approached with a gun. He got his behind handed to him and he should have taken the beating like a man and learned to fight better. Instead, he shot the kid.

By and by, due process was served, he was judged by a jury of his peers and found not guilty.
WTF??? NO ONE is required to take a beating.

He didn't chase him down. He wasn't even following him anymore. TM is the one who circled back around and confronted GZ. And when GZ shot him, it WAS self defense because TM was on top of him pounding his head into the concrete. Maybe TM should have been concerned for his personal safety and gone home and called 911 if he felt someone was stalking him, instead of coming back and attacking someone and bashing their head into the sidewalk.

I've never been in a situation like TM's, so I don't know what I would have done. However, I know that if a strange man was following me around in a car and then on foot, I don't think I would have wanted to go home so that he could find out where I live, and possibly push me in and harm me.

Would you have called 911? TM didn't.

If you were afraid of getting harmed, would you go and directly confront the individual? TM did.

Yes of course!

He was in fear. That's why instead of hanging up on his GF and calling 911, he decided the best cause of action was to go and confront the scary guy he was too afraid of to head home.
