Horrific event.

Stockton bank robbers with 3 hostages 'had to be stopped,' chief says - LA Times

Where is the AK47?

"She was pronounced dead at the scene, where police recovered three handguns -- two 45-caliber and one a 9-millimeter -- along with several magazines."

No doubt those criminals needed to be stopped. Someone can't shoot very well though. With 20 cops all shooting, the chances of not also shooting the hostages was nil.

A similar event happened in the LA quite a while ago. Bad guys were shooting at the cops from the rear of the vehicle. The cops had the sense to drop back and in the end got them anyway.

No easy way out on this one.

"As the driver sped across highways and residential streets, one of the robbers fired out the rear of the Explorer indiscriminately at police with an AK-47-style assault rifle. "

Not sure what you meant there.

Good think AK-47 is banned in California. Imagine if it weren't.

Wrong again, those manufactured prior to 1994 are legal. I realize you struggle with reality in your sheeple world. Epic fail!

No AK47 recovered, only handguns. With that many police following, if they threw it out the window (begs the question why) it would have been found.

Where is the AK47 that was reported to have been used?

That's pretty standard, I wonder what happened.

AK 47 and "assault rifles" are already typed in reporter's dispatches. You see, they have a Word template. When they hear of a shooting, they just file it. The shooting at the Navy yard in DC was also automatically attributed to an AR-15. Only later we found out that it was a $150 shotgun. So the story was dropped two days later never to be heard again.

Pretty callous comments considering it is well documented that assault weapons were used.

The real tragedy here is the loss of an innocent life, and mother of children, a wife, and a daughter. rather than show concern for her you're more worried about your precious political angle over guns.

Maybe but the point was valid
an opportunity is never missed by our government to disarm the people and the police tend to inflate their achievements and minimize their shortcomings impression management of the civil servant
