Oh damn, like NO ONE saw that one coming.....I say let the fools all kill each other off. Why should Police get in the way of their stupidity only to become the issue??? That is exactly what is going to happen given the issues they face...the thugs take over, kill to the point people are BEGGING for police protection, and then when they come in, THEY take the blame. I say HOLD THE MAYOR RESPONSIBLE!!!! She had it going on when she could throw the blame, so let her shoulder it now that things are NOT being done as they should!!!!
In cop talk they let the population "blow off steam" before they go back in. It would be a danger to precious manpower, money and have zero effect when they interrupt riots at these levels too early. Rioters and sympathizers have to realize what they are doing by themselves, even at the expense of local shop owners and public property. Otherwise the police, firemen and medics will become targets.
Compare it to a child who throws a fit. Go to your room and come back out when you are normal. Here the kids have guns and matches though.

The rioters don't care what they are doing. Majority of the rioters in this instance don't have jobs, don't own anything worth much, and the neighborhood was pretty much a dump before the riot took place.
Something else. I would also consider that rioters are looking for attention. Now, the riots attract looters who are looking for things to steal. On the other hand, there is another element. In the mind of a rioter, the only way to get someone's attention is through violence. That is all they know, is violence. They think in terms of "listen to me, or I will attack".
