The killing has taken place for decades, going back to the 60s. Detroit has had the same thing going on there. End result: Both cities are seeing their populations drop, Detroit is doing far worse. All it does is scare people away from those areas.

And there are good people living in the inner cities who would give anything to leave and never return. The crime rate has to drastically drop before anyone moves back to those bad areas.

Imagine what each one of those misfits costs the US Taxpayers - from conception (pre natal medical care - welfare) - to raising them (welfare) and then cleaning up their crime (starting 12-13 years) to incarceration. A huge amount of cost per thug and look at what we get in return. Don't anyone suggest throwing more money at them - nothing would change. I have some ideas but they would violate the current civil liberties thing. The devil made me do it but I got seasons 1 - 3 of "The Wire" from the library. Clearly this isn't going to stop because this is all they know and they actually enjoy this life style. This is "normal" to them. There must be a planet out there somewhere~~~~~~~~~~~

So far, no weekend tally, but it sounds as if the "hands up, don't shoot" crowd were not doing neither yesterday.

City sees 40, homicides, more than 100 shootings this month - Baltimore Sun
Justin Mensuphu-Bey, 23 — who also went by Justin Bey, according to court records — was fatally shot in the 1100 block of Washington Boulevard in Pigtown Friday night, police said. The last time the city had 40 homicides in a month was August 1990, when the city had 42 and its population was significantly larger. So far, 2015 has seen 113 homicides. ....

The 100th shooting of the month also happened early Saturday morning. A woman was found shot in the leg in the 2900 block of West Lanvale St. in the Franklintown Road neighborhood of southwest Baltimore, police said.

A series of other attacks followed throughout the day.

Actually I just looked and they had a double homicide last night. Which brings the weekend total to 4 murders. But wait they found a female floater the other night too. So they will probably wait until after the 1st to announce that she actually counts towards this weekend as well. So if she is a murder victim I have the over under at 6. Man I am so close. So 12 more hours for one more victim. That would make this weekend a push lol. Either way they are at 42 or 43 murders for the month. Great job mayor..Police commissioner,, States Attorney and the fine citizens of Baltimore!!!!!

Baltimore, Maryland
[ It Ain't Over, Till It's Over: 42 Murders and Counting; 12 Hours More to Maim and Kill ]

Baltimore's Murder Rate Ties 25-Year Monthly Record

By Robert Lang — Sunday, May 31st, 2015 ‘WBAL News Radio 1050 AM’ / Baltimore, MD

Baltimore City has now recorded 42 murders in May, making this the deadliest month in Baltimore City in nearly 25 years.

Police say two men were found shot in the head at around 1:15 Sunday morning in the 2000-block of Belair Road.

The victims have not been identified.

According to Baltimore Sun records, the last time there were 42 murders in a single month, it was August, 1990.

Police started keeping records in 1970.

The deadliest month in that period was in December, 1971, when 44 people were killed in the city.

There have been more than 100 non-fatal shootings this month.

Some clergy in Baltimore have asked Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake to declare a state of emergency to address the problem.

One pastor tells Maryland's News This Week, that such a declaration may be too late to address the problem.

Nobody is talking about it because no cop did the killing.
Turn a blind eye because we dare not speak the truth.

I was reading some articles on this yesterday and the denial/delusion runs deep.
One said the increased violence is because the people are "angry" over police abuse.

Another minister said they went to the Mayor and said they would walk the streets and talk to the young men.
The reporter said that they were still robbing stores even with the talking. The minister dismissed that as "It happened in the past" and then walked away from the reporter.

You cannot fix a "problem" until you admit what the "problem" truly is.
And the "problem" is NOT police abuse.
