At least America is on the upswing (as far as being proactive against obesity goes). I watch programs on Mexico, Italy, etc, and whoa! The blobbishness is on epic levels there.

As for chubbies in AZ? Its hard to be chubby here when its 115 degrees out (Farenheit, that is). You just sweat the weight off. lolol

Our government is the same, and trying to stop the increasing levels of obesity. It's very difficult, as people even lie to themselves on their food intake. "I'm big boned" they wail.

Another favourite, "I have thyroid trouble........." It is a major ongoing problem.

There's a difference between obesity and morbid obesity. The USA excels at the latter.

70% of US adults are overweight- morbidly obese.

Almost 100 million are obese.

One- third of all minors are overweight/ obese.

The U.S. has the fattest population in the world.

How many watch " My 600 Pound Life" and feel better about themselves because they are not that bad?

WHO has declared overweight/ obestity the #1 global health risk.

Honestly, to my knowledge this isn't so. Most people in the UK are fond of Americans. As for the rest of Europe..... who cares? I sure don't.

Obesity is visually a bigger problem in the US. More people and sedentary living. In Asia and Europe, most people don't own cars so walking is a must along with mass transit.
