It really doesn't matter why he chose that night to have dinner, that's the night he chose. And really, that's your take-away from this story?

Sad that America (led by Obama) has declared war on the police.

Another one that just doesn't get it.

Questioning a cops decision on why he chose to celebrate his birthday with his family while he was on duty apparently equals war on police.

There's no war on the police. There's no war on anyone. At least nothing that wasn't underway long, long before Obama.

There is just 24/7 media that keeps controversy stirring for the sake of making money, pundits becoming wealthy peddling fear, uncertainty, doubt, and outrage.

Tell the several policemen murdered or targeted this week there's no war on cops
Obama fuels it

If your job is that demanding, wouldn't it make sense to wait until you're off the clock so you could actually relax and enjoy your meal with your family, without having to be worried that you might have to leave at any second? He wasn't at a fast food place, he was at a sit down restaurant where you could expect to stay for 1 to 2 hours.

Doesn't really make sense.
I would say 30% to 50% of the time we got called away from a meal. We always tried to eat when it was quiet. It is what it is. All cops understand this and certainly it is not an issue at all. Police work can go from boredom to 100mph in a second. It boils down to a mistake in the company policy by the hostess or she lacked common sense on the issue. Most establishments love having the cops come in.

The rate of police homicides has been going down--as has violent crime in general--for decades. It's gone down 19% in this year alone since last year, and last year was the fewest police deaths by firearms since 1887. So how is that a "war on police," and how is it one started by Obama?

In the NYPD meal is a privilege and not a right. I would say we got meal around 70% of the time. The other times it was too busy and you don't get one. You learn the first day out of the academy sometimes you get meal sometimes you don't.

Repped.

I can't understand why any business would think denying police officers service could benefit them in any way. Granted, it was the employee and not the business owner, but it comes down to common sense, which the employee apparently had very little of.

But why not just wait until your off duty so you could relax and enjoy your meal with your family?

And then we get the guy who called the OP a liar in a different thread saying there are no such thing as quotas and who is now claiming the President is behind cop killings.

OP = realistic Officer.

nmo = dangerously out of touch with reality.
