I don't buy it. Most Mexicans come and go. Now that Christmas is here they will go home for 3-4 weeks then return.
We would see this from our students' families. The whole family would leave for a month or two. The counselors had to advise them to withdraw their children. Otherwise the students would be held responsible for the assignments.

Nutz and bullcrap.

Just visit the crossing at Los Algodones or San Luis outside of Yuma Az to watch them come and go on a daily basis and you'd see they come across driving stuff you would not see on the roads anywhere else to return later in the evening with those crappy pick-up trucks loaded to the gunwhales with anything that will bring scrap value that wasn't tied down in Arizona.

One particular approaching deadline of e-verify compliance or some such, saw them stripping the rental homes they were living in of every conceivable thing of value, fixtures, plumbing, wiring, windows, doors and even flooring, to beat feet back across the border into Mexico.

You folks have been so screwed by them for decades you've become inured to the process.

According to this chart, the vast majority are staying, NOT leaving:

Study finds more Mexicans leaving the US than coming

If/when our economy ever picks up again, the flood gates will open again. And given we have no idea who's in our country illegally as estimates vary widely, to me this whole "more is leaving" is speculation at best. Do we have someone sitting at the border counting illegals running back to Mexico?

And this isn't just about Mexicans. Many others from countries around the world and especially from Central America are sneaking in via our southern border illegally.

A recent "from around the world" example:

Honduras detains 5 Syrians over fake passports - CNN.com

Problem "solved", right people?

It would be great news if fewer illegals were coming to America. More opportunities for employment for American citizens, and fewer excuses not to find work

So we had a drop over a 7 year-old period. Big deal. Doesn't mean the problem of illegal immigration is solved. I noticed the parents took their US-born children with them, yet when we suggest that for deportation we're told you can't kick the kids out of "their" country.

Actually that is a big deal, because it is certainly not happening in Europe. This drop has made it much easier to integreate the ones who are already in the US.

It is precisely of this reason US is not going to have a big immigration problem in the future. Yes, whites will eventually be a minority, but the ones replacing them are almost white Christians. Republicans shouldn't worry about hispanics, many of them will become just like them in the future.

Compared to the EU, I think the US has a bright future. Not only has EU economy done terribly, but now millions of muslims is wandering into EU each year. This will not end well, and US will end up looking quite good in comparison.
