Facebook, job, family drama. Probably the first one.
Simple solution. Take off your shoes and leave them in the back seat with the kid. Cell phone would probably work.
That's brilliant. Honestly it seems some people are more likely to forget their kid than their phone.
Actually I blame sugar. When I ate a lot of sugar, I was way more likely to make stupid mistakes b/c at times my brain would take a vacation after a sugar binge and at times if I was driving I'd have to pull over to take a nap. I never left a kid or an animal in a car though and I have ADHD.

Probably stayed up all night doing drugs and/or gaming, then was so exhausted he had to nap.
