See my above response. If your response is what you entire post sounds like, you should be in hog heaven.

And I hope it stays off. While this may be YOUR opinion ... my opinion of YOUR opinion is that YOURS is sheet.

Agree with these.

It was IN NO WAY even remotely "funny". Sick, twisted, and deranged.

Anyone who finds it "funny" is also very likely sick, twisted, and deranged.

Let me add gross and disgusting too.

Exactly! I love how the government said "Relax everyone, we'll just feed these ex-asylum people happy & calm pills every day & they can live among us in peace, it'll be all good!"

Exactly. Jails and prisons have become the new sanitoriums and it's not working out for anybody. It's time for leaders, SJWs, and politicians to admit that yet another one of their grand social engineering experiments has failed miserably, and that we need to bring back mental health institutions.

No, not exactly.

After Geraldo Rivera's expose on Willowbrook State School on Staten Island, NY and other media attention to similar places, starting in the 1970's there began a push towards moving the mentally ill out of institutions and into community care based settings. This was largely made possible by advances in medicine which allowed many forms of mental illness to be "controlled" via medication.

Also beginning in the 1970's a series of lawsuits filed by and or on behalf of the mentally ill delivered some remarkable verdicts including from the SCOTUS: https://www.aclu.org/aclu-history-mental-institutions

Long story short states began shutting down/moving persons out of mental hospitals to *supposed* community care. What happened was state and local governments soon began backsliding on their promises to build/create community based care as costs ballooned. Will give you that yes, when fiscal times got tough federal and local governments cut spending to health care services including mental; but the latter had been underfunded really in most areas from the start.

So now you have this problem that because of lawsuits and so forth the mentally ill have rights. Where it was almost quite easy to "put someone away" for the rest of their lives, now judges are reluctant in all but the most clear cut cases of a person being a harm to themselves or others. Even then getting such a person committed for more than say a month (often less) is an uphill battle.

Basically as the laws stand a person has every right to walk around jabbering to himself or whatever. Long as he or she is not engaged in criminal behavior there is little to nothing LE can do. Often however what does happen is these persons do things that bring them into contact with the justice system. Ironically jails and prisons have become the new mental asylums. While in custody state or local government are required by law to provide healthcare and that includes mental illness.

Yes, it's a sad situation. Mental health funding has been cut by billions of dollars by Obama. He's really hurt a lot of people, mostly children. Our state had to cut a huge amount of people with mental illnesses off, with no access to doctors, so they end up, yep, in jail. Unless youre wealthy, of course. They have nice, expensive homes for them. Shame on you Obama! I believe you have mental issues, yourself. I think he likes it when mentally ill people get guns and kill people, to further his gun agenda. It's amazing, the things that man spends a fortune on, and harms American citizens.
Under Obama, Billions Cut from Mental Health Programs
"President Obama's promise to improve access to mental healthcare is as phony as his shedding a tear over the deaths of the Newtown, Connecticut children while he himself has authorized the killing of hundreds of children in drone strikes in Pakistan and elsewhere."

They also end up in the hospital. But, the hospital doesn't even have to take them. All they have to do is answer a few questions that everyone knows the answers to, and they'll say "Youre good to go. You know who the president is and the year and your birthday." Then they send them to the mental health unit, and they get them stabilized and out in 7 days, for insurance purposes. What a joke. They give them prescriptions, tell them to get them filled, like that's going to happen. Most of them don't even have doctors, or anywhere to live. Then the whole circle starts again. In some states, it's against the law to put homeless mentally ill people out on the street, but what else can they do now that there are no institutions and now, THANKS AGAIN OBAMA, no funding.

A lot of people with mental issues commit suicide also. They could save a lot of peoples lives by bringing back institutions. They don't have to be like the old ones. At least they had a roof over their heads, and meals back then.
