Jeremy Gabriel is 19. When did this event occur? I couldn't tell from the article.

I think those who make fun of disabled people are scumbags. Finding humor in that is disgusting and ignorant. But I support people's right to free speech so I don't agree with this ruling.

Well dang, comedians insulting people. There must be 10 million lawsuits just waiting for Rodney Dangerfiled, or Don Ricklels or Andrew Dice Clay or Robert Smigel with Triumph the puppet dog or Lisa Lampanelli, or Jeff Ross.

Who would have thunk it.

If anyone is part of one of the many (fill-in-the-blank) "communities" or demographic subsets, or if you have interacted with them on any considerable level, then you will know that they can be the first to "joke" about each other, make derogatory comments, be "non-PC", etc. regarding whatever it is that is making them "identify" as a separate "community". Let an "outsider" do it however and they (or more likely a self-assigned "outsider-advocate") will feign offense.

That was before the PC movement. If someone feels insulted or gets butt hurt they can now sure you.
That way they can pay for therapy & talk about their relationship with their mother & be on meds the rest of their life's. Gods forbid that they have ever have to stand up for themselves.

Listen to Guns and Roses 'One in a Million' if you really want to get offended.

Agreed. Another reason I'm glad I'm not Canadian. Besides the weather and the food.

"Mike Ward has to pay $35,000 ($25,000 in moral damages, $10,000 in punitive damages) to Jeremy Gabriel—who Ward has referred to as "Petit Jeremy"'

Is that like "little Marco"? Trump could lose his fortune with his campaign.

Definitely the speech and thought police have arrived in Canada. I have never heard of Moral Damages, it sounds very Orwellian.

I would have to agree I have a low opinion of those that pick on the 'weak'.
