A few years ago there was a guy who wanted to do a reality TV show episode where he wore a special suit and let himself get swallowed by a snake, then cut himself out. He never actually did it due to public pressure against it.

Awhile. The python would wrap around first and smother the prey, some theorize it's also to cut off the blood supply, and keeping squeezing to break up bones. Then would position the corpse to ingest it, probably head first. That would take time.
