are they upset he leaked? or that he was carrying weapons that are most likely legal...?

edit: if not convicted later on, does that mean he was unlawfully imprisoned/detained? think the news will talk about the resulting lawsuit?

I think California has a law that all silencers are illegal and from the picture, it looks like he has one on both the pistol and the rifle.

Sounds like there's a lot of presumption going on here - I highly doubt the ar15 was in the duffel bag with the mag lite attached.. That would be a pretty long duffel bag. As for calling the mag lite a silencer, that's a stretch.. Could just be a fake can.. Millions of people have fake cans On their guns - here's a company that has four pages of fake silencers to pick from..

They could be fake, but they could also be real or homemade. Heck, he could have bought fake ones and tried to tinker with it at home to actually make it as a true silencer. We just don't know. Fact is, if they adjust the DB at all, he could spend time in jail.

California Silencer Laws

It is illegal to possess a silencer in the state of California. The state legislature defines a silencer as any device meant to silence, diminish or muffle a firearm. This device can be officially manufactured as a silencer or created by the gun owner. Possession of a silencer is a felony in California and can lead to imprisonment, a $10,000 fine or both.

This. He had a silencer. If they needed any proof he was up to no good, that would be it. (Along with everything else, haha)

Well, not taking the cop's word for it after they peed their pants over hollow point bullets. If the cops involved are too ignorant to know the purpose & use of hollow points, they're simply not qualified to arrest people for firearms violations.
