Not only this, but to be the same it would need to be a case where the woman pretends to be taking the man, stating she is going to pay, ordering a lot of expensive food at a nice place, and then fleeing so that he has to.
You wonder? Men get "stuck" with the bill all the time.
Seriously, I know of no woman, ever, who ever excused herself to go to the ladies room & then dipped out.
Had an arrangement with a friend to call, especially for blind dates? Yes. But at least then the person gets a “good bye, so sorry, my house is on fire, gotta go!” Not just ditched.
I also can’t imagine any guys I know actually calling the cops. They would prefer to just pay it & get the heck outta there.
Neither is it her problem. She didn't dine and dash. The restaurant should pursue the guilty one, not target the innocent.
As far as the restaurant is concerned they are a seated "party". Servers, hostesses, chefs don't bother knowing the relationship among every single person seated at the restaurant. They don't care if it's a couple's first date, a married couple, or possibly the two people dining were siblings. Or even perhaps a party of 8, a mixture of generations. It's not their responsibility to know. They just need the tab to be paid.

Right? Dating again when I was in my 40s it was when alarms were going off in my head. Not just this guy isn't for me, either. Rather, there is something rather creepy here. Whoops! Need to head home. But I did pay my part of the tab and got out of there.
