Agree! Who thinks to look if there's poop in their seat? I mean like WTF?
I doubt it was clear poop all over the seat. You don't have to inspect the seat that closely to notice it us covered in poop. Unless your staring at the ceiling, how do you not see the seat you're about to sit in?
I'm waiting to read something from the people on the previous flight who were in the surrounding seats. Surely they smelled and saw something. Did it happen as the flight was disembarking? Was it during flight? How many people were exposed to the biohazard?
I'd get off the plane, demand my luggage, and call my attorney. Then the Health Department, the FAA, DoT, state AG, county sheriff, you name it. This is a health and safety issue, people should cop legal charges.

I don't think he actually sat IN it. From his description the feces were on the floor, walls and the bottom of the seat, not the seat itself. He says it got all over the back of his legs. Makes me think that it was probably a sick animal.
Doesn't really matter whether it was a person or an animal that caused the mess anyway, either way it's disgusting to have to deal with.
Is anyone aware of an official response from Delta about this? I'll be interested to see how they handle it. The whole situation is just flabbergasting.
So volunteer to swap with someone on standby for that flight and catch the next one. If you're lucky, you can dispute the fare with your CC company and have them yoink the charge from Delta for being p*** poor stewards of air travel.
Just disgusting, people can be so freaking gross. Since feces are considered a health hazard, and can transmit disease, whichever entity is responsible for airline inspections should be all over this.
You cant see diarrhea coming. Montezuma's Revenge rarely has warning signs. Personally, I would have gotten off the plane and demanded another flight, or my money back or something. There is no way I would even sit in my own poop for that long.
Biohazard for sure. And this to a Diamond Medallion, this is the highest frequent flyer level that Delta has.
Being a frequent flyer on Delta I usually go to the FlyerTalk forum to figure out what's going on, sometimes they may have insider information. No luck here, the moderators there locked up the thread for some reason. There is a suggestion that this might be fake news.
