Hi, gang!
Can't believe I get to start the thread. I'm not usually the first one any more.
Lisa, sounds like you still had fun visiting. Your friends sound neat. And congrats on the new canning jars!
I think it's going to be a quiet day here again today. The merger involving our Credit Union has caused some glitches, so we can't use our debit card and I can't get online to "visit" our accounts. We'll be visiting tomorrow to get that all straightened out. What a pain.
I love whoopee pies Lisa, I made them once when Nick was still in high school, they are yummy.
Morning all!
Hubby and I took a little trip to the casino yesterday. We had quite a bit of fun, I made a little cash but hubby lost. All in all it was fun and not something we ususally do. I was surprised at how busy this place was, and the amount of elderly there playing. A little older woman sat next to me and she was actually hitting the spin button with her fist! I was like, "okay maybe I need to move".
Gotta grocery shop today and attempt to clean. Not much else on my list of to do's. Can't do laundry until Bob fixes the dryer, association here does not allow clothes lines. My goodness I dislike the fact that a homeowners association tells you what to do on your own property. T sees nothing wrong with it, but me..........

Karla went to Tampa for a retirement/birthday party for her FIL. She should be back today.
I love whoopie pies, too. I had my first one visiting my aunt in Boston when I was a kid. Came home, figured I could make those....used cake mix. Not a good experiment.
Sandy, there's a monthly trip to a casino from our community and it's always full.
I get around the rules. We can't put up "permanent outside clotheslines". So I hang our towels outside on folding clothes bars and DH installed some hooks on either side of the garage and, when I want to hang out clothes, I just put up the lines and take them down when they're done. Hey, works for me!
We had fun Pattie, it was a spur of the moment thing and we never do anything like that so what the heck. Some of the slot machines are so funny, I liked playing a diamond thing that went "haywire" on certain hits, made 50.00 on it so that made my night.
Bob is going to bring over our dryer so we have something to use today. Hers is set up funny and he thought he had it fixed yesterday but T put a load of clothes in last night and it began the horrible, loud noise again. I think he needs to look at the bottom and see if a belt may have broken.
I like those foldable drying things. I have one and use it all the time.
Nothing happening here, except that "somehow" mh's cell phone went into the sink, into a pan in there that has some water in it. That somehow is in quotes because someone won't own up to knocking it into the sink. But at least someone hasn't blamed me [yet].
Where's the casino, Sandy? They just opened one here last week. Toledo was one of the 3 cities in Ohio that got permission, or w/e to build one. Looks pretty spectacular from what I've seen on TV so far, but it's still way to new to even consider going there. We went to Atlantic City many, many years ago, and I loved it!
ETA just did a short DA shoulder workout.

Connie it is about 40 miles south from us, a small place by a vacation spot Gun Lake. The casino itself is not large but large enough for me. But about 8pm the place began packing it in, time for this one to go home to bed
Got my groceries bought and did not even break the bank, that makes me happy, gosh they have gone up in price, again!
They had performances from former students and a roast which was hysterical
FIl has a habit of dozing off and it seems he would do this during meeting
The presentations were amazing. I hadn't realized the impact he made at the school as administrator (same thing a Principal) over the last 25 years
He revamped the program and turned it into one of the most successful Performing Arts schools in the country as well as designed the construction of the new school buildings
He received a letter from the President thanking him for his contributions to education as well as a US Flag that was flown over the Capital building in his honor (it came with this really cool certificate ) as well as a record of congress where he was recognized by a Senator for his contributions in Education
They also has a Bust made of him that will be placed in the lobby of the Theater
I was very proud to be able to say "I am his daughter-in-law"
The party wasn't over till after 11:30 pm and it was at a Yacht club 45 mins from his house
It was close to 1 before I went to bed. lol I had been up since 4:30 that morning so I was wiped out
We went to breakfast and headed home we got here about 3
We both just crashed on the sofa
Oh you guys will be very "proud" of me
At the dinner I ate half my salad and half the green beans that was served with the Chicken Marsala (which was the first time I every had that )
lol I figured if I ate the healthy green stuff I would feel guilty about the very yummy rolls they served
The dogs did great with MIL and she enjoyed staying so now it looks like I have an alternative to boarding yay !!!
