Hi there!!!

We are moving to Texas as my husband just got a job w/ the airlines-- I'm curious to know if the Southlake/Colleyville area would be a good commute for him. (We are looking for nothing over 1/2 hour) I homeschool my young kiddos, so schools aren't really a big deal to us.

We do however want a bigger home, in an area with some matured trees (if possible! We'd like to be in walking distance to a retail center (or at least a quick drive to one....) and we'd like to have an acre of land or so in a family-oriented community.....

Is this the impossible dream!?!?

We're willing to spend up to about 750,000 or so....

Thank you so very much for any input!

the joys of moving from somewhere expensive to somewhere not-so-expensive.. i cant really help you with your original question, but your 750K will go a LONG way around those parts, so dont worry about that

That's an ideal location for commuting to DFW. Your dollar will go very far!

Just be aware that property tax rates in DFW run in the 2.5-3% range (it looks like Seattle is closer to 1%). So the taxes on a $750k home here would be in the $18-22k range annually. This might affect your pricing decision.

acre of land won't be easy to get in southlake colleyville area unless you are willing to spend over 700--1 M or take older home that needs work...
