Anyone have any thoughts about this school? It is surrounded by several really excellent elementary schools but people seem to strongly prefer parkhill over Richardson North -although that may just be a couple people on great schools.

I went to North "back in the day". The main difference is Parkhill is Dallas people and higher property values. North, though has some higher property values on the North side of Campbell, is more of a lower and average price point for Richardson. I won't get into how we viewed the Parkhill kids back then, but you can image how stereotypes about the schools start, and that's what you're probably seeing on Great Schools and any other "subjective" opinion site.

North had great teachers and still does. There's a teacher that used to teach there for umpteen years and she has about 10 different facebook groups dedicated to her. She was very highly respected and memorable.

I think it's the best junior high in the district. Unless I'm forgetting something I've been in all the JHs in the ISD.
