Castles just aren't built like they used to be! I mean where's the Moat?

I don't usually think of myself as a snobby person, but I did think that this castle "missed the bus". I agree about that kitchen...there was nothing special about any of it and the stained glass looked like it came from a kindergarten, with the primary colors and simplistic design.

Poor castle....ahhhh....

Honestly, I thought the topic was about this one for sale in Winnsboro which I thought was kinda cool:

Kitchen is much better in this castle.

I kinda like the way this one is nestled among the trees. Seems livable.

I've seen that place (outside); you can see it from the road pretty well. Can't believe it's priced so low. Rockwall was well known a number of years ago for another castle styled home located in Chandler's Landing that was left unfinished for a number of years. I think the owner went broke before it was finished. It finally sold but I don't know if it was torn down, remodeled, or what. There's another home just south of Rockwall on SH 205 that also has a castle-like appearance. You can only see the roof line from the road but it's pretty distinctive.

There is one in Soutlake that I read about, they have a $15 million asking price on Zillow's Make Me Move. I wonder if someone would offer that much?

We're not too far from that one, and IIRC one of our neighbor/acquaintances is acquainted with the owners, so we have two degrees of bacon or whatever on it. Every time I drive by I expect a Disney fairy to fly out the top center with the signature glitter of fireworks.

I want it!! Well to redo 80% of it, kitchen is awful, but can be redone.. Needs some taller trees and more landscaping, I agree a moat would be awesome!

Those two are just cheap versions of castles for impostors, this one is more like a real castle.

Who cares about the kitchen - you only spend a few minutes a day in there. I love the rest of it and would snap it up if I had a spare million. Maybe I can run out and get a Powerball ticket.
