Just a word of warning for those of you coming into town this weekend. This Saturday is the Susan G. Komen breast cancer 5K. It is a HUGE deal around here. EVERYONE goes. It is done down by Northpark Mall on Saturday morning. So there will be LOTS of traffic in that area.

Suggestion: If you have not already done so, get a MAPSCO. You can get one for Dallas County and one for Tarrant County. They are sold at every bookstore, office supply, convienence store here and well worth it. Even us natives HAVE to have one just for all of the side streets. Never leave home w/o it.

momof2dfw,

Are you sure you're not employed by the Garland Chamber of Commerce? JK. Thanks for all of the pics- I may take a look a little more around Garland when I visit as the wife and I will be in town the first weekend of Nov.

Actually i wondered the same thing until i tried it. Its wonderful, more like a dough made with coke that is then drizzled with coke fountain syrup then fried. It is served with whipped cream, cinnamon sugar and a cherry on top.. sounds a bit strange but its wonderful

Oh there are pot holes. Why just yesterday they decided to block two lanes to fix one on SB I-35E at 5pm....

Not that I had to sit in the mess they made.
