My 8 year old noticed this immediately, as well.

Part of the reason why Collin Creek Mall shut down. No one wants to touch there with 1-mile pole.

Everyone would want to rub new development at that place. By the way older shopping malls are dying everywhere, specially when there are several newer malls within 1/2 hr drive.

West side was always higher end but due to influx of corporate money on this side, it has boomed even more. I always preferred west side, best location in whole North Texas.

J/W how bad is Eastern Plano? I always assumed everything up U.S. 75 was relatively safe and fairly expensive.

Mmm..I didn't expect this from you. You should be telling it as best place on earth, not sure why you just stopped at North Texas.

Btw, west Plano is definitely a nice place, no questions and obviously comes with a price (relative)

East Plano isn’t expensive, and still wildly safer than the average.

Totally ridiculous and a disservice to anyone wanting to know about relocating to an area. There have been so many developers wanting to buy CC mall but the 10-20 some odd owners kept holding out wanting to profit more and more because they knew how valuable it was. The new owners are gonna spend $1 Billion to develop it. They're not an idiot Troll like Xiping.

Some of these comments are idiotic. East Plano is the older part of town with a walkable lively bar scene so of course it's gonna seem like there's more crime. It also has the 2 train stations and industrial areas so it seems more blue collar. But the residential neighborhoods are safe and offer very good value especially when you consider they have good schools there that are more challenging than most of the more expensive areas.

I wouldn't have any issues raising my family there and the developers spending big time money there are putting their money there also.

The new owner will tear down the mall and turn it into 4,000 high-density apartment units.
It's certainly lucrative for developers, but may not be a good news for existing residents. House sale is already down 10-20% YoY in this area.
