40 percent in one year? Where are you? Home sales prices didn't even go up that much. Mine shows a ten percent increase from 2021 to 2022. It was only five percent in 2021.

2022 TAAD Press Release On Value Increases

Click here for a press release from the Texas Association of Appraisal Districts (TAAD) regarding home value increases across the State. The range of increases from regions around the State is showing to be 10% to 50% increases. For Collin CAD itself, we are continuing to analyze market data as we prepare to mail our 2022 Appraisal Notices on April 15th. We are anticipating an average home value appraisal increase toward the middle of the range shown in the linked press release, expecting an average increase of 28% to 30%, comparing 2021 to 2022 average home appraisals for the County.

Our appraised value up ~47% from last year. I may try to fight, but really their number is still much lower than going sale prices. Plus I’m capped at 10% on tax payment (homestead).

I envision a lot of wasted money and time on fighting appraisals this year as it’s hard to believe everywhere didn’t increase at least 10% in value from 2020. So thetax appraisal fighting companies must be in panic most as they won’t be able to save non-HS owners anything on their payment this year.

I'm new to this and just read through the details, and I was actually looking at a valuation with the homestead exemption. Without it, indeed it would be 32 percent! Yikes!

My house did not go up that much in value. It was just assessed drastically below market value last year. This one would be worth a protest if not for the exemption.

Mine held flat for the 3rd straight year. Valued at $865,000 tax wise. Could sell easily for $2M.

32% increase in Dallas County. I'll protest but I don't expect much.

My appraised value went up 28%, but continues to lag behind what I believe the actual fair market value is (or, rather, was for 1/1/22).

We're listing the home in 5-6 weeks so not going to protest.
