That's too conservative for the OP.

Seven million dollars is enough to put the OP west of the Tollway in the best area of DFW.

You should just focus on all the areas of Preston hollow, including west of the Tollroad and just east of Hillcrest at Royal (near the JCC). These are family areas with easy access to nearly all the privates and there are tons of families--- on the weekends they are playing outside etc. You can just take Preston all the way down to Uptown and since the lights are timed, the commute won't be bad. If your home budget is up to 7mm, you will most likely find privates for all your kids since there probably won't be any tuition limitations. Yes, SM/hockaday/greenhill might not care about your financial standing but the others do. There are also plenty of good charter schools and several good public elementary schools.

Not everyone wants to live in HP/UP. It's definitely a specific culture and I can understand not wanting to look there or have your kids at HPISD.

Is 7M a typo? Did you mean 1M?

If you want the failsafe of making sure you're in a good school district no matter what might happen with private schools, I would first choose the Park Cities. Second, I would choose what you call the Park Hill area, zoned to RISD. I live in Prestonwood and I think the area is pretty well represented on all ends of the political spectrum, based on conversations I've had with neighbors and signs I've seen in the yard. The only thing on your criteria that might be lacking is some green space.

Third, I'd pick Canyon Creek. It's so pretty there. The only downside I can think of is that your commute won't be very good.

Another neighborhood to consider is Northwood Hills, zoned to RISD. I've heard their elementary isn't the best, but I don't think it's difficult to get into one of the RISD magnets. Northwood Hills has big, tree-lined lots and your commute would be a little bit better than Prestonwood.

As much as we like to live in HP or PC, I don’t think we’d be a good fit.

What areas west of Tollway in Preston Hollow or Preston Hollow in general has kids running around?

Curious about the area by the JCC as well, if there are kids running around

Without being too intrusive, why do you believe that?

As an entrepreneur I have many friends/acquaintances in the business community in Dallas that live in those areas - though some I am close with, there’s like an invisible barrier that prevents us from being super close. I feel out of place when I’m invited to their ranches to go shooting and hunting

This is some good trolling. Much better than the “is Highland Village the same as Highland Park” lady.
