It eased off a little in Richardson but it's starting to come down hard again near Belt Line and 75. Luckily this storm is moving pretty fast.

Where I work, just lots of rain and a little lightning (industrial noises drown out thunder in the office). Much ado about nothing, but I am glad they seem to err on the side of caution in this area!

Yeah...I kept hearing it was going to be bad, but it wasn't. Not in this area anyway.

Hope everyone else is safe and sound.

Any way to tell if/where there are traffic lights that are flashing instead of going thru the normal cycles? My commutes on Thurs last week were pretty rough with two of them doing that at different intersections on my route to work.

Only traffic site I know of is:

OK, so I have a question for any weather experts out there. There was a sudden, explosive clap of thunder at about 4:53pm in N. Dallas (Forest/N. Central Expwy area) completely out of the blue.... On the cooler, stable back side of the storms, well after the rain had ended. I actually thought there was a gas explosion nearby because there was very little lingering rumble with it and the building shook more like an explosion, not continuous thunder. Come to think of it, I don't even remember seeing a flash before it happened. Very weird. What would create conditions to cause lightning/thunder in calm air?

We were lucky that the tree didn't hit the house or a car, just laid out on the lawn.

I don't know the type of tree; builder installed fast growing.

I heard the same one; there was a flash of lighting probably 5-7 seconds before the thunder. I thought it was weird too!

I'm southwest of you and I heard it, I was outside wiping off the lawnchairs. There were a couple of more slight rumbles, a lighting flash and it spit a little rain too. It was just some left over stuff that briefly popped up and then back down, only thing on radar was light green right north of me. It's not unusual to have clouds and junk rolling around after a line of storms like that. Knock on wood, this storm was nothing much. Welcome to Texas.

Thanks for the info. I'm no stranger to storms at all, but the situation and the way it just happened out of nowhere really caught me off guard! The dogs didn't like it very much that's for sure! lol
