We didn't get enough snow, but I'll gladly take it.

I agree, but it doesn't have to be 12". Enough where things shut down and you really have no choice but to hunker down, light a fire, and cook comfort foods for a day or two. The other day I didn't care for much...scraping off my car while freezing my behind off, and shuttling the kid off to school like any other day. Either snow me in or give me a surprise day in the 60s and I'm happy.

And that's not limited to this area by any means!

88 degrees today on March 4th. We have beautiful blue skies and sunshine. The trees have leaves poping out and the flowering trees and shrubs are coming out too. The Metroplex is lookin' good!

Is the drought situation getting better out there? I'm looking ot move there soon from Raleigh and as much as I love our extra green environs my allergies will soon be out of control. Dallas should be a bit better since there are less trees and quite a bit drier.

Yep. Fruit trees will bud out too early--and then one more hard freeze comes to knock them all out.

Maybe a nighttime frost might do some damage to some of the tender new buds/flowers that are coming out, but so far this winter we haven't had a 'hard freeze'...and there is no hard freeze in the forecast for the next ten days, which will put us in mid-March.

Who said Dallas is HOT year-round? Who said Dallas is HOT nine plus months out of the year?

It's been 7 months since September (when the weather turned cooler) and we've had cool weather the entire time and it's almost May - a cool fall, a moderate winter, a cool spring thus far. If May begins our hot weather that means we will have had 7+ months of nice cool weather and less than 5 months of warm or hot weather. That's way short of Dallas being hot nine plus months each year, or the entire year as some claim. Here we are in late April and we have a couple of nights coming up with the forecast calling for the low to mid-40 degrees.
