Rained just a little bit in McKinney, then it was just high wind all night long. Knocked over a few peoples fences around the neighborhood.

It rained hard in West Plano last night for about 20 minutes - maybe a little pea size hail too. The winds became stronger as the rain band approached, and increased throughout the evening and Thursday morning.

Here in Rowlett as far as I know just the brief 10-15min of rain lastnight here followed by very high winds overnight. When the storms first hit we got some high winds too, looked like 40-50mph, I haven't seen anything like this so far this year as far as wind goes.

We were out to dinner at Rigs in Sherman. Even though it wasn't in the forecast, holy moly we saw lightning like never before. Rain was relentless. Only lasted about 30 minutes but it was intense.

Wunderground said there was a 10% chance of rain. OOPS!

Meh, we get 40-75mph winds all the time back home. I'm just glad it wasn't a dust storm.

WOW guys! After 12 years in Upstate SC, we've kind of gotten used to "boring" weather. I'm a weather bug, so moving to the Metroplex should keep me busy!

We're getting that same system here now and getting steady rain, but nothing else.

Count yourselves fortunate... I'm at the coast in AL and the same front went through SW AL early this a.m. with a vengence! Many, many tornado warnings throughout several counties - with confirmed F1 tornado damage in Mobile. Very unusual event for that area, most especially in December of all things!

But hey, it could be worse - we could all be in Illinois or Iowa... NOT!!! Stay safe all!

.
