Tupinamba's on Inwood just north of Forest has a sunday buffet that is good, have texmex options, which are great as well as some more typical breakfast items. This is one of my top 3 tex mex places in the city and their flan is in the top 2 Ive ever had and is available on the buffet

Wait, why does it have to be a buffet?

Also, can anyone recommend a good regular ol' breakfast place near Uptown/Lakewood/M-Streets? I'm talking waffles, pancakes, egg dishes, that sort of thing.

If you are willing to forego the 'buffet' part, then Cafe de Brazil (various locations), Poor Richard's Cafe (east Plano) and The Dream Cafe (uptown Dallas & Addison) are exceptional for breakfast [with Dream being the best of the 3], and all have generous portions.

Central Market also has all-you-can-eat pancake buffet.

.

Our long-standing all-time favorite non-buffet breakfast place is Le Peep... their plate-size pancakes and waffles are to die for, as well as their crepes, omelets, i.e., everything else! Check out their breakfast/lunch menu!
