I cant for the life of me understand why someone would do such a thing.

The fires we had here last year were caused by a utility truck that pulled up off the road onto the dry grass. That's all it took and we lost a state park and most of a town.

My daughter works at the Academy but she apparently cant get to work until the roads are cleared. msev, is your car loaded and ready to go on a moment's notice? My daughter's log house is on a mountainside -- she has so many dogs (she used to do dog-sledding before she was hurt in Iraq) that I dont know how she'd evacuate them all.

Fire crews have put out a wildfire burning near the town of Sedalia. Initial estimates put the fire at one acre in size.
The fire was reported just before 3 p.m. and was located just south of Highway 67 off of Highway 105.

im ready to leave tfw but the fires are still too far away. Heard unofficial reports that around 35 houses just burned to the ground. Prayers to all the families affected! Also heard from my officemate that they just sent everyone home about an hour ago. Its my day off today so i was closely monitoring the situation from home.

I am so worried about all of you in Colorado. Please be safe. Just got an email from a friend who lives near the Air Force Academy and his neighborhood as just been ordered to evacuate.

Last summer we had a fire near us and I thought I would have to evacuate. I had the cat carriers all ready and the meds packed. I knew where I was going but it is tough to leave the one place where we all feel absolutely safe and that is where we live.

If you are told to leave then please hit the road. A house can be replaced. You cannot be.

Also, please keep us informed as to how you are. Our prayers are with you.
