My lawn chair, fishing pole, and camera are always in the trunk of my car so I can enjoy these off the beaten path beaches.

I have never been so that is why I asked. I knew there had to be some that were not that populated. I love the ocean beaches but for some solitude near water, the ones you mentioned sound really good.
Thanks!

LOL, and the nuclear reactor.

Augustine Beach is definitely a fishing beach, but a nice little surprise on Rt. 9. If you face the right direction, you can get some nice photos without the reactor in the background. We take the kids there to "skip" rocks and play in the sand a bit every now and then.

For quiet, laid back, fishing or relaxing there are also beaches on Indian River Bay and Rehoboth Bay. Long Neck and Oak Orchard are very quiet except for a few summer weekends.

Are any of these bay beahes fit for swimming? Also, may i take my leashed, VERY clean and friendly Doberman on any of the beaches off-season? My pooches do their "eliminating" in their own yard, btw. As I stated in another post, I am simply considering DE over NJ, but need to take a few days to explore (along with my canine girl, of course: my favorite traveling buddy)
