I do hope you'll give us periodic updates on life in NC and Asheville, including your impression of the seasons and how bad the winters are (I guess you would have about the most snow there of any part of NC). I'm quite interested in visiting both the Triangle area and Asheville. Haven't been in NC since I was a kid.
