As a former Delawarean whose parents relocated to the Wilmington area in the late 1940's YES the 50's/60's in the Dupont, Atlas &, Hercules era was when Del. was less populated families went way back & everyone knew everyone.

NOW, forget it! Yes, I would concur with younger posters on this thread Delaware is dullsville & Wilmington is dangerville.

Agreed with the OP. I know what it is like to be young and living in DE. There just isn't a whole lot in DE. You have to DRIVE everywhere just to get to some nightlife and then it is difficult to get a cab or take public transportation back in case you had one too many beers. DE is basically just lifeless strip mall after strip mall. It's just the way urban planning setup DE. DE should be a case of exactly how you should not setup neighborhoods, towns, and development.
