guys , my mom recently had her tooth removed because it had broken , so the dentist put anastasia and removed her tooth ; now she has like a gum boil where the tooth was removed , am so worried ; anyone know what this is called?
If there is an infection involving the gums, this can impact the heart - and rather quickly.
She should go to the dentist NOW.
This is something for which I would even recommend the emergency room.

She needs to call the dentist and go back in so that he can check it. It coud be an infection, or it could be nothing. But, Never mess w/ teeth infections...My brother has a heart valve because he got gum infections, never went to a dentist...infections travel in our bodies, and can do much damage, even cause deaths.
Here is a link to WebMD.com that talks about teeth, extractions and complications. This might help you to understand, but it should not replace calling and speaking to your dentist and getting your Mom in depending upon what her Dentist says related to that "boil" you described. http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/too...oval-directory

It'd be pretty hard to even offer useful advice, when there are important details missing from the OP's post.
1) When you say "recently" what do you mean? Recently, as in, within the last few days? Or within the past few months, or weeks, or hours?
2) She had a broken tooth pulled with anasthesia - you mean she got a shot in her gum? Or did she have a twilight or conscious sedation cocktail?
If she got a shot in her gum, and this happened within the past 24 hours, it's probably just irritation and soreness from the shot. Or the gum might still be a little swollen from the extraction. That goes away after a couple of days.
If this was two-three days ago, and it's worse than it was yesterday, then she needs to call the dentist and tell his service it's an emergency, and have him call her back ASAP. He'll ask her questions, and based on the answers, he'll have her wait til morning, or go to the emergency room, or have her rinse with salt-water and wait it out.
If it was a couple of weeks ago, then it's something new, and probably has nothing to do with the extraction at all. If it was an infection that sat there for a couple of weeks, she'd be sick as a dog by now, oozing puss and breathing the nastiest smelling breath you could possibly imagine. Within the gum, these things can sit awhile before they're noticed. But after an extraction when the entire gum area is exposed, there's no place for those infections to hide.
She probably has a dry socket, which is an infection in the hole where the tooth once was. She needs to go back right away to the doctor that pulled it.
brokencrayolas right...dry socket, which needs to be treated immediately by the dentist that pulled her tooth...I'm sure though, by now, that it's all over.
