Im relocating to Aurora very shortly and need some info on good apartments. Ive looked at apartments.com and rent.com but its hard to "really" tell if a place is good on there. I am coming up to visit but need some pre info to know where to look.

Ive been told to stay near the cherry creek state park. For reference Im going to be working basically just outside Buckely AFB. So that seems like a decent place to be.

Heres what I am looking for:

1 bedroom
washer dryer in unit.
Air conditioning
dishwasher
cable ready
parking - prefer garage and not to have to pay a ton extra for it (unless rent is lower to compensate when compared to another place.)

I dont really care about community property such as pools, workout places etc. I really dont make use of them. Id much rather have a nice room with decent neighboors in a good area.

FYI I am used to living in Oakland (pittsburgh) PA if that gives you any idea.

Id like to be in southern aurora as Ive heard its nice (ie cherry creek state park) but am not adverse to going north if its nice as well.

Thanks for the info!

I am from Pittsburgh, went to Pitt so am familiar with the Oakland area. LOL! The area around the University of Denver (known here as DU) reminds me a lot of the area around Pitt and Oakland in general. You might want to look there. You won't need the garage as much as you might think you will. We only get a few snowstorms a year.

The garage is not critical. Its just one of those nice to haves. Especially since I have an older truck and would like to keep it out of the weather as much as possible.

I will check out the area near University of Denver. Thanks.

What I am saying is, the weather here is not as bad as you might think. There would be more scraping frost off the windshield in the winter than anything else.

nothing against the DU area but youre probably going to have much better luck finding newer apartments with garages in south or southeast Aurora, which are nice areas. Central and north Aurora arent so great in my opinion.
