I have been looking for the same thing. I need a furnished place, I'm not sure if you are in the same boat. I found some condo rentals that are fully furnished that can be rented month to month on cyberrentals.com and vrbo.com. They aren't very cheap, but it might be worth looking into for the short term.

I thought I found about three that were between 1100-1200 for a whole month. When I looked I was just zeroing in on the monthly rate. It's too high for us too, but we may have to resort to one of them since we need something furnished for sure. I don't know if they are even in an ideal part of the metro area, but furnished and short term rentals are hard to come by I've noticed.
