Another thread I was reading got me a little concerned about a few things... I still think Denver is the place for me and my family, but I was curious about some stuff... I myself grew up mostly in Dallas...

Kids Sports, growing up Soccer had two seasons, Spring and Fall..Spring started February and ran through April, Fall season started in Sept and ran through November. Baseball season was May through June/July. Football of course Sept-Nov.

What are the youth sports schedules like in the Denver area. with a longer winter, are there less outlets/season to play in, or do they just make the schedules fit the weather better? Are some of the winter sports well organized with seasons, such as Ice Hockey, and if so which ones?

What other stuff is there during the winter (other than skiing of course) to keep the kids busy and active?

A lot of kids play indoor soccer over the winter. This is put together by the soccer coach and/or team parents.
No weather worries there (except perhaps driving to the game.)
The outdoor soccer season is pretty close to what you posted, with some spring snow-outs occuring. However, I remember some "spring" tournament (for kicking off the season) that we used to attend which was over Presidents Day weekend. The weather for that one was sometimes quite lovely, if the grass was rather brown.

There is organized ice hockey as well, at various rinks.

Many kids go to snowboard/ski classes on weekends (they take the bus up.) Buffalo, Eskimos, Copper Choppers, just google the ski resorts and the classes will turn up.

There are so many organized sports for children in this state it's pretty incredible. All up and down the Front Range.

inline hockey (indoor and out)
indoor soccer as well as outdoor soccer
peewee sports like football, t-ball, soccer
tennis
swimming
ice hockey
gymnastics
baseball
softball
football
track (usually through the schools)
lacrosse (usually in high schools)
ski/boarding clubs
skateboard parks (not as organized as most sports but there are a ton of parks for skateboarders)
basketball

You name it, all the communities on the Front Range offer kids a wide variety of organized sports. This is a pretty active state and children's activities are very well supported in Colorado from the parks and recs departments to individiual organizations to the public and private schools.

One thing I really dig about Colorado is the amount of adult sports. Much of the same things listed above are available for adults too. Heck my brother who is in his early 40s is a member of a local ice hockey league for adults. I have been considering getting into the women's division where I live. I know they have good divisions up in Denver too.

Heck, they even have a good roller derby program in Denver and C Springs for those of us women that might want to get into it. I would prefer ice hockey though.
