i have posted a few threads here on the forum and asking some questions but after listening to this story tell me what you think. I am only 17 to be 18 in September. I am graduating Highschool in a matter of days and have a great life. like another poster who posted a simuliar thread, i have a great job for my age and good pay. But Colorado has always been calling me. I know it sounds weird but since i was very young i wanted to live in the rockies which is why i am going at the evergreen area just west of denver. I do want to go to college but it can wait for now. i have it good here in kentucky but I feel like i have to go and its crazy really. My parents support me in it. they feel like staying home longer wouldnt be a bad idea but i have worked fulltime through the last yearof HS and been saving alot. i have never even been to evergreen or to the state of colorado for that matter but i love the mountians and the magnificent views, i can only dream of experiencing a rocky moutain blizzard. So i ask am i crazy? Is colorado that nice? evergreen in particular? I mean are the mountains as good as the pictures?

One would assume from your post that you've never set foot in Colorado, even though you feel the "rockies have been calling" you. You should visit at least twice before making any decisions, in my opinion.

I certainly second what rebagirl said. It will definitely be much different than you think, no matter what you think! Evergreen is expensive and you will need some means of support. Come out for a vacation if you feel the call. You are young and Colorado will always be here for you.

May I suggest Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood - off 6th Ave near i-70 and housing in Lakewood/Green Mountain is reasonable.

Welcome to Red Rocks Community College
