What is the source of water in SE Aurora and Centennial? I am looking at the developments such as The Farm, Piney Creek, the Saddle Rocks (North, South, Ridge), Sienna, Tuscany, Tally's Reach, etc. Is the source ground water, Reservoirs fed by the snowfall in the mountains, or what? Can anyone enlighten please?

Info about Aurora's water supply can be found at Aurora Water Department (http://www.auroragov.org/AuroraGov/Departments/AuroraWater/InformationEducation/Information/index.htm?ssSourceNodeId=602&ssSourceSiteId=621 - broken link).

Aurora Water provides drinking water to more than 310,000
people. The city’s water supply comes primarily from three river
basins: the Colorado, Arkansas and South Platte. The water is
then stored in the reservoirs. . .

I can't speak for all the developments you mention but at least for my area (Saddle Rock), we are technically counted as part of the City of Aurora, but we're actually in unincorporated Arapaphoe County. Our water is supplied by a company called East Cherry Creek Valley Water & Sanitation District. Every month, we all pay $22 towards a project called the Northern Project which brings water to our area from the South Platte River.

Here is a link to that company:
East Cherry Creek Valley Water & Sanitation

I think that all of metro Denver, no matter which water company you have, has watering restrictions. For us, we water our grass 3xs per week depending on our address number (even or odd). I've heard some claim that the suburbs will soon be out of water but I can only speak from what I know from my neighbor who works for ECCV. He says all of that is nonsense and that at least for our area, our water supply is more secure than most...thanks to the Northern Project.

Where I live has ECCV water (which originates from groundwater), and it tastes horrible. The City of Aurora water supply (which originates from mountain water and goes through a complex series of aqueducts and dams) is much, much better!

I have ECCV as well in Saddle Rock Ridge and we like it - but I personally only drink the water from the fridge/freezer filter. The hubs drinks it straight from tap - and my kids occasionally will drink it from a hose.... EEEK! No complaints with the taste from any of the 5 of us here?

We drink lots of water and found that we were going through too many water filters (at about $15 each) so we finally invested in a reverse osmosis system that is connected under our kitchen sink. What a difference. I am picky about my water taste too but haven't found water that tastes good anywhere but Seattle.
