I don't think this has been posted anywhere. But did anyone notice that there are 2 "Gameday Detroit" locations downtown? That's one of my favorite stores and I didn't notice it until I happened to walk into one after the Lions game last Sunday.

Why do you like Gameday Detroit so much? Do they sell sports apparel and memorabilia? I thought they just sold tickets

I love IHOP. Having one right downtown, with an Applebee's sounds pretty sweet. Yay for Applebee's for giving Detroit a chance (I am looking at you Chili's and TGI Friday's)

Some good news for Capitol Park. Capitol Park might become the most amazing little urban enclave in the whole state

Bird Bee women's clothing, accessories store to open in The Albert

Bar-grocery hybrid to open in Detroit's Capitol Park in May 2017

"The concept of the store, owned by Zak Yatim and Samer Ghafari, is a grab-n-go market with dry goods, fresh produce, beer and wine, prepared foods and a soup and salad bar.

The two-part 2,500 square-foot space will house the market in the back and a bar up front, with a partition separating the two for evening hours."

Wayne County building across from Cass Park will be redeveloped into apartments and adjacent retail space

This is the building where you can get a copy of your birth certificate. Well not anymore!

Last time I checked IHOP already has a restaurant close to downtown along Jefferson and Applebee's already has a restaurant in Detroit (although it is at the border along 8-Mile and Woodward right where the Meijer is) so this isn't exactly groundbreaking. Honestly I can't imagine that opening another IHOP close by would be good for business since it is likely that those two locations would cannibalize each other regarding their customer base.

I'm pleased about IHOP, but pairing it with Applebee's makes me skeptical. Not an Applebee's fan...

Microsoft could be moving to Downtown Detroit from Southfield. Official announcement may come soon.

Also, Gilbert says he expects multiple large buildings to start year or so. Specifically, he expects at least a dozen high rises of at least 25 floors or more in the next several years. That's suspiciously optimistic and I'd be surprised with even half that number.

Update: Gilbert teases big Detroit tenant, talks Trump
That's a pretty incredible pace of development he's expecting. Have past development projections by him panned out accordingly?
