Being born and raised Taylor-tuckian I can tell you I-94 to Ecorse is kind of rough

Ecorse to Wick is better both sides of Telegraph, though the east side can be hard core blue collar. West side more white collar types.

Wick to Goddard is pretty good as well.

Goddard to NorthLine isn't bad but not a lot of residential other than east of Telegraph...

There isn't much on Northline between Telegraph and Beech Daly. A golf course, UPS, apartments near Telegraph and may be 2-4 homes on Northline.

AVOID Eureka Beech Daly in that southwest corner...NASTY...

So too is the northwest corner Ecorse to Van Born west of Beech Daly...

I-94 to Ecorse west of Telegraph all the way to Inkster...unless you rent.

Anywhere else off Telegraph to Beech Daly west and Pardee east are really pretty good in residential....Not sure which apartments to avoid other than the ones on Telegraph North of Goddard near the newer Home DEpot--used to be called GeorgeTown??

THe apartmentsbehid the police station on Goddard are rough.

Apartmet at Goddard and Beech Daly used to be nice. Sunrise on Goddard Between Telegraph and Beech Daly were ok.

THe only real trouble with crime in Taylor is the LACK or SLOW response time of the police department. Unless you are city council, politician or fellow policeofficer..you can WAIT for a cruiser....sometimes...

Not a memeber of the Taylor-tuckian hunting club, but I am NRA life member...

We looked in this general area. We found a house that we liked on Northline boardering on the big park where they moved the historic buildings. We found the following:

Crime: Higher than some areas but still within our level of tolerabnce.
Schools: Bad
Traffic: Living on Northline was out of the question, traffic is too heavy on the main street. Smaller streets seemed to be ok.

Housing stock: Not too many nice himes in Taylor. There are some, but they are scattered.

Shopping/Entertainmnet. There is a lot of shopping even a decent mall. They have an awesome sportsplex (mostly Hockey). Taylor does nto have a downtown, but there are quite a few things to do. Lots of good churches.

Access: Not bad. A lot of downriver communities have limited freeway access (I-75 only and a bit of a drive to get to that). However Taylor has ready access to both the I-75 and the I-94. Even the 96 is not too far off.

Attitude: Well they do call it Taylortucky. But I am not sure that moniker is earned. Most of the people we met are very nice. There are some hicks. However you find hicks everywhere.

I just remembered. The park is called Heritage Park. It is a really nice park It would have been great to live on the edge of it, but the other negatives kept us away.
