On a side note, I recently learned that someone is in the preliminary stages of trying to get FDA approval for a DNP based weight loss pill. Very closely watching that one, though I remain skeptical that it will come to fruition.
Personally, I hope no one ever comes up with a successful diet pill. I think we "pill away" too many of our health problems. The main reason obesity is on the rise is because, since the 1960's and the advent of big agriculture and processed foods, our food supply has become nutritionally vacant and unhealthy. The goal of providing food cheaply has trumped quality. Since unhealthy eating has the side effect of obesity (though lots of unhealthy people are thin), there is a push for food manufacturers to offer healthier choices for those many, many people trying to curb their weight. Take obesity away, and only a tiny segment of the population will give a crap about what they're eating. You won't see any decrease in heart disease or diabetes. Just fewer people making the lifestyle changes they need to stave off the diseases in the first place.
I remember in the 80's Cher did a tv commercial for Bally's Gym where she said something "If a good body came in a box...everyone would have one"...truer words were never spoken!!! Hopefully one day in the future...
I don't understand the concept of diet pills at all. So let's pretend you find one that "works." To maintain do you have to take the pill for the rest of your life? That sounds pretty depressing. What happens when you stop taking it? If you gain it all back, that was a waste of time. So what's the point?
Doesn't it make more sense to make changes that permanently works so you don't have to worry about gaining it back when you "stop." Or having a lifelong strategies to keep it off?
I used Fastin a long time ago. It suppressed my appetite and gave me a high that made working out more interesting and fun. Dropped a lot of weight rather quickly.
Never heard of a pill alone without exercise and dieting that worked though.

That's the stuff that has killed people who get heated from inside out.
No thanks.
