Good luck everyone with your diets. I hope you all find something that works for you. If you haven't yet, it might be worth being a little more open minded about the 5:2 diet.
Can you have more than 500 calories and work them out?
I think the point of the 5:2 diet by Mosley is to slow down aging and losing weight is a very nice side effect of it. If you're just doing it just for the weight issue I don't think it matters.
My thing with it is even from Mosley own food log of his "fasting day" is he's dining on bacon and eggs. It doesn't cover as much base as CRON in terms of nutrition or less damaging food choices (less food with high amounts of AGES, saturated fat, Omega 6, etc). Also I tend to graze when I'm working so fasting would be hard on my work life.
for those of you doing the diet:
from my understanding, you can't do both days consecutive, and you can add more days if you want to loose weight more quickly. My question is, do you know if it has to be consistent, or can I alternate depending on my schedule?
Also, about the protein, I thought it said you had to limit protein and carbs on fast days? I'd hate to limit my proteins, too.
Thanks for the thread, I've never heard of this, but feel this would be ideal for me.
never mind, just read tjarado's other thread where she answers my question and says she changes days to accommodate her plans. Sounds perfect! I
