Can you eat animal products and be healthy? Of course but you can also avoid or severely limit animal products and be healthy. There is no unseen force mandating that we kill things in order to be healthy.
You do kill things in order to be healthy. They're not sentient beings, but they're still alive. There is a force mandating that you kill things in order to be healthy. It's called being a creature with a complex digestive system.

Yes, I know what you *mean* - but you aren't saying what you mean, and this is exactly how arguments start on this forum.

If obesity is a disease, then there are a lot of diseased people in TV ads these days. Best Buy has one, some guy so fat you can't see his belt until he walks a little bit and his stomach sloshes up a bit. Disgusting.

Then we have the man and woman walk into a mattress store in their underwear. She has enough jelly rolls to feed an entire police department.

As usual, the pendulum has swung too far to the other side and now we are being conditioned to accept just plain old fat as OK.

The message is clear, we've made it unacceptable to comment about people being fat, now they are considered diseased. How so? Stop shoving food in your face and you won't be fat. Yeah, there are some people with metabolic or other medical conditions which cause them to be unable to regulate whatever needs regulating but that isn't most people. Most people that are fat are fat because they simple eat too much or eat the wrong foods and can't control themselves.

So lets make being fat a disease so that being fat isn't the fault of the person eating so much but some disease for which everyone else can now share blame.

You don't want to be fat? Stop eating so much or eat better and do more than walk from the food table to the couch.

The real problem begins when they become a 'protected class'. I pray that never, ever happens..being fat is a choice for many, many people.
