What a wonderful tribute.
For me, the soiling oneself without being able to get up and move or go out would be the final sign (or has been before). They never seem to go in their sleep. If only.
So many of us here have been where you are.
Thank you all for your compassionate comments. They helped with my decision and were comforting. Isabelle went peacefully in my arms at the vet's office today. I know I did the right thing for my girl.

You did what I would have done, Kimmie. Cherish your wonderful memories of Isabelle -- I know that you have many. And don't forget to be kind to yourself.
Kimmie I know that even though you did the loving and right thing for you and Isabelle your heart aches but just try to remember all the wonderful and loving years she had in your care. She is in a place now where she is once again a young and lively puppy. You will always have a special place in your heart just for Isabelle. (((HUGS))))

I can't say it any better than this so I'll shamelessly DITTO!
Kimmie,
I know it is hard right now but you did do the right thing for Isabelle. She may physically be gone but she will live on forever in your memories of her or as some would say in your heart. She will come to you any time you call.
I had to put one of my dogs Dash down a year ago and I feel him around me all the time and thoughts of him make me smile and laugh. It may take you a while to get to this place where smiles out number tears but the day will come. For now just be kind to yourself and don't let any one tell you how to grieve the loss of your sweet pup or tell you how long you should grieve. Grief is a very personal thing and we all do it out own way. You gave Isabelle that one last act of love and that was letting her go. Bless you and if you need to talk about her at all to heal your heart everyone here understands and will listen as many of us have gone through it before. Dashdog

My heart is breaking for you, but you did the right thing. I'm not so sure I could be as strong as you if the situation were reversed.
